Brandon DoweryBrandon was awarded the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble 2013 Apprenticeship after graduating from Queensland Academy for Creative Industries in 2012, completing Higher Level Theatre with the International Baccalaureate.
In 2010, Brandon accepted his offer into Vanguard Youth Theatre Company - Steven Mitchell Wright's youth ensemble - along with enhancing his understanding of theatre by training with Jamie Kabel (the Stanford Meisner Technique), Andrew Corey (Clowning), Mark Hill and Helen Smith (Butoh), and Stephen Matthias and Simon Tate (Viewpoints, Suzuki, Linklater, Realism, Absurdism, Greek and Elizabethan Theatre). Brandon also took part in Steven Mitchell Wright's workshop 'The Danger Ensemble: No Cameras Please', which heavily explored the Suzuki Method of Actor Training. His experience includes Drowning Ophelia (Richard III), which toured to Singapore as well as a season at QACI, Mire - a Butoh inspired performance at Muse Theatre Festival, and acting in student-devised one man show, Evoke, which won the Brisbane 2High Festival Schools 2011 competition, performed at the Powerhouse. Metamorphosis will be Brandon's first production with 'The Basics Project' and will see him take on the physically challenging role of Gregor Samsa. |
